Key works included the construction of a new, robust bridge to enhance connectivity through the area, the removal of outdated platforms to make way for upgraded, accessible facilities, and the installation of advanced drainage systems to manage stormwater effectively.
Our team also undertook comprehensive upgrades to existing services and utilities, ensuring reliable and future-ready operations. As with all Kilmac Civil projects, attention was given to detail and design—reflected in the revitalised streetscape that improves the experience for commuters, pedestrians, and the local community alike.

Little Eveleigh street upgrade - Redfern Station Package
Client: Novo Rail
Project Type: Streetscape
Location: Little Eveleigh street - Redfern
Kilmac Civil is pleased to mark the successful completion of the Little Eveleigh Street Upgrade, delivered as a key component of the broader Redfern Station Upgrade on behalf of Novo Rail. This project was a testament to our team's capability to deliver high-quality urban infrastructure in complex and sensitive environments.
Located adjacent to a heritage-listed building and lined with mature street trees, the site presented unique challenges that required precision and care. Our experienced operators skillfully excavated around tree root systems to ensure zero impact on the existing greenery. The project also involved the careful upgrade of Ivy Lane and Lawson Street, requiring staged delivery and close coordination with surrounding stakeholders.
During excavation, the discovery of sandstone material was efficiently managed. Rather than remove it, our team reused the sandstone on-site, enhancing both the visual appeal and the heritage character of the area—demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and thoughtful urban design.
This project reflects Kilmac Civil’s dedication to delivering technically demanding civil works with a strong focus on quality, environmental stewardship, and heritage preservation.

Marrickville Sewer Bridge Replacement Project
Client: Laing O'Rourke/John Holland JV
Project Type: Sydney Metro Upgrade
Location: Marricville station
Kilmac Civil successfully completed a highly complex and technical scope of work as part of the Marrickville Station Bridge project, facilitating the construction of a new bridge for the Sydney Metro rail line over a 100-year-old sewer main. The project presented unique challenges, requiring precision excavation, piling, and the careful formation of precast track slabs.
Due to restricted access, the track slabs were lowered into place using track jacks, as crane access was not feasible. This innovative approach allowed the team to meet the strict requirements of the project while ensuring safety and structural integrity.
The outstanding performance and expertise demonstrated throughout this project earned Kilmac Civil the prestigious Steve Maxwell Platelaying Award 2024 for Minor Works under $5m. This accolade was awarded in recognition of the project's complexity, the tight timeframe, and Kilmac Civil's ability to deliver exceptional results under challenging conditions.
